Henry Hansman, Sr., age 87, one of the oldest settlers of this community, died suddenly on Wednesday, October 17, 1951 at his home.

Mr. Hansman had been in fairly good health considering his age and on Wednesday morning he had placed a short ladder against one of his pear trees and attempted to shake the tree to get the pears. He felt a dizzy spell coming on and climbed down. His condition was noticed by George Wibben and Pete Veenker, who came to his aid. He passed away quietly a few moments later.

Mr. Hansman is survived by two sons and two daughters: Henry Jr., and Alfred; Mrs. Orie (Anna) Johnson, and Elsie at home, all of the George, Iowa community.

Funeral services will be held from the Hansman home at 1:30 p.m. and from the Lutheran church in George on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
