Ada Ten Haken, 91, of Hull died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at Pleasant Acres Care Center.

Services were Wednesday at First Reformed Church, Hull, with interment in Hope Cemetery.

Ada Brouwer was born July 31, 1910, near Doon, the daughter of Andrew and Alice (Van Berkum) Brouwer. She grew up in Doon. After graduating from high school and attending summer school, she was a country school teacher five years.

On March 22, 1933, she married Willis Ten Haken in Doon. They farmed near Carmel from 1942-46 and northwest of Hull from 1946-67. In 1967, they moved into Hull where she was a nurse aide at Pleasant Acres five years.

Her husband died June 12, 1986. In February 1995, she moved to Homestead in Hull. On June 15, 2001, she transferred to Pleasant Acres.

Survivors include one son, Harold of Rock Valley; two daughters, Lois Visser of Albuquerque, N.M., and Mrs. Bernie (Linda) Mulder of Carmel; 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Alan; one grandson, Daniel, and two brothers, Fred and William.
