Obituary: Doon, IA - Warren L. Lehman, 89, died Thursday, July 23, 2009 at his home in Doon, IA. Funeral Mass was held Monday, July 27 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Alvord, IA. Burial was at Hillside Cemetery, Doon.

Warren L. Lehman was born January 24, 1920, to Floyd P. and Alma M. (Nagel) Lehman in Doon, IA. He graduated from Doon Public High School and began farming. Warren was united in marriage to Mildred E. Witt on March 4, 1943 in Alvord, IA. He lived within 1 and a half miles of Doon his entire life. Warren farmed and was a substitute rural mail carrier until he was appointed Post Master of the Doon Post Office in 1963 retiring in 1983, serving 39 years with the Postal Service. Warren and Mildred moved in Doon in 1988. Mildred died February 1, 2004. Warren was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Alvord, IA. He enjoyed traveling, genealogy, playing solitaire and visiting with friends and family.

Warren is survived by 2 sons: Floyd (Sylvia) Lehman of Watertown, SD and Bob (Gwen) Lehman of Canton, SD; 2 daughters: Diana (Carl) Pinard of Minneapolis, MN and Mary Trotter of Perry, IA; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Ruth Lehman of Spring Grove, IL and Alma Jean De Bondt of Stafford, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred; infant brother, Robert E. Lehman; great-granddaughter, Lily Huyser; son-in-law, Tom Trotter.
