Helen L. Busse was born August 16, 1921 at Sheldon, Iowa. She was the daughter of Henry "Pat "and Ida (Symens) Rosenboom. She grew up in the George and Edna, both in Lyon county, Iowa areas and attended country school near Edna.

She married Peter Busse on August 29, 1942 at Omaha, Nebraska. They farmed near Little Rock, Lyon county, Iowa for a year, then they moved to Doon, also in Lyon county, Iowa, where they continued to farm.

Helen was a charter member of the Faith Baptist Church of Rock, Rapids, Iowa. She moved to Rosewood Heights Apartments until 1987 and lived there until she became a resident of the Lyon Manor Care Center, where she lived for the last nine years. She died there on December 20, 2002 at the age of 81.

She leaves to cherish her memories: three children, Paul and wife Marlys Busse of Sibley, lowa; Dave and wife Rita Busse of Doon, lowa; and Mary Mulder of St. Cloud, Minnesota. Also left to cherish eight great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Lorraine Hanson of Philip, South Dakota, and Anna Mac Pfan of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Peter; all infant brother, Edward and one brother, Elmer Rosenboom.

Funeral services were held for Helen Busse on Monday, December 23, 2002 in Faith Baptist Church of Rock Rapids, Iowa with interment in the First Baptist Church Cemetery northeast of George' Iowa.
