The funeral of Klaas (other articles have “Claus” or "Claas") Heidebrink was held Friday afternoon, August 13, 1915, short services being first held at the family residence in George, Lyon county, Iowa, and afterward the body was taken to the Presbyterian church, where Rev. A. E. Boell assisted by Rev. Mr. Ziegler and Mr. Aeilts of Little Rock conducted the services. A large number of relatives, friends and neighbors were present.

Rev. Boell selected for his text: “The wicked is drawn away in his wickedness, but the righteous has hope in his death.”

“Brethren, our time is short, so teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts to wisdom.”

After Rev. Boell spoke in English, Rev. Mr. Ziegler followed him with a sermon in German, his text being Psalm 39:1-8. The body was then laid to rest in the Evergreen Lawn cemetery near George.

Klaas Heidebrink was born in Simonswolde, Ostfriesland, Germany December 19, 1863 and came to America with his parents when a baby of three years. They made their home in Illinois. Later the family moved to Grundy county, Iowa and there Klaas was united in marriage on March, 1889, to Miss Emma Kile. To them were born four children, all living.

A little more than twenty-three years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Heidebrink moved to Lyon county, Iowa, settling on a farm six miles west of George. They shared the toil and success of farm life together until last spring, when they moved to their home in town.

Mr. Heidebrink was a man of upright character and possessed many warm friends. He will be greatly missed in the family circle as well as by his neighbors and friends.
