Funeral services for Gerrit Vander Streek, Jr., 28, of Walnut Grove, Minnesota were held December 9, 1992 at the Christian Reformed Church, Rock Rapids, Lyon county, Iowa, with interment in Valley View Cemetery, Rock Valley, Sioux county, Iowa.

He died Friday, December 4, 1992, of injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Walnut Grove.

Mr. Vander Streek was born February 10, 1964, in Sioux Center, Sioux county, Iowa. He graduated from Central Lyon (Lyon county, Iowa) High School and was employed as a farm laborer in the Rock Rapids area for several years. In 198, he moved to Ann Township, Cottonwood County, Minnesota to be with his fiancée. He raised exotic livestock and was employed by Johnson Trucking, Storden, Minnesota.

On July 6, 1991, he married Donna Swenson in rural Westbrook, Minnesota.

Survivors include his wife’ his parents, Gerrit and Minerva Vander Streek of Rock Rapids; two brothers, Willard of Luverne, Minnesota, and Henry of Rock Rapids, and five sisters, Mrs. Gracia (John) Kuipers of Platte, South Dakota, Mrs. Carla (Frank) Sheda of Dubuque, Iowa, Mrs. Wilma (Timothy) Mulder of Orange City, Iowa, and Mrs. Conda (Dale) Timmerman and Mrs. Myra (Greg) Modder, both of George, Iowa.
