Funeral services for Leonard Risseeuw Sr., 89, of Doon, Lyon county, Iowa, were held November 7, 1992, at First Reformed Church, Doon, with interment in Capel Township Cemetery, Middleburg.

He died Tuesday, November 3, at Sioux Center Community Hospital.

Mr. Risseeuw was born February 14, 1893, at Biervleit, The Netherlands. At the age of 3, he came to the United States with his family. They settled in the Lakeview, South Dakota, area.

On August 10, 1928, he married Pauline Leusink at Lakeview. They moved to Iowa in 1934 and also farmed in Wisconsin for many years. In July 1990, they moved to Doon, Lyon county, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Leonard Jr., of Larchwood, Iowa; three daughters, Mrs. Dean (Ethel) Gruys of Edgerton, Minnesota, Mrs. Kenneth (Clarretta) DeGroot of Doon, Iowa and Mrs. Glenn (Bertha) Kruizenga of Darien, Wisconsin; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and one sister, Jeanette Oden of Springfield, South Dakota.
