Funeral services for Evelyn Hoekstra, 71, of Rock Rapids, Lyon county, Iowa, were held August 27, 1992 in Christian Church (Disciples), Rock Rapids, with interment in Riverview Cemetery.

She died Monday, August 24, 1992, in McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Evelyn Swanson was born September 14, 1920 in Peterson, Iowa. On October 16, 1938, she married Edwin Hoekstra in George, Lyon county, Iowa. They lived in Rock Rapids and she worked for various businesses there. Her husband died in 1988.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry, of Pipestone, Minnesota, and Glen of Brookings, South Dakota; five grandchildren and one sister, Gladys Crissman of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
