Funeral services for Wilbur Timmerman, 60, of Rock Rapids, Lyon county, Iowa, were held September 7, 1992 at Holy Name Catholic Church, Rock Rapids with interment in the church cemetery.

He died Friday, September 4, 1992 in Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Mr. Timmerman was born June 30, 1932 in rural Rock Rapids. He grew up and attended country school near Rock Rapids.

On April 5, 1951, he married Betty Roemen in Rock Rapids. They lived in various communities while he worked in construction for Hattendorf Construction and Galde Construction, both of Ocheydan, Iowa, building churches and schools. In 1965, they returned to Rock Rapids where he worked for Foltz Construction for 25 years. Two years ago, he and his son, Larry,, began their own construction business, Timmerman Construction.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Larry of Rock Rapids; three grandchildren; one brother, John of George, Lyon county, Iowa, and three sisters, Mrs. Vern (Nellie) Pals of Fulda, Minnesota, Beth Wiggins of Colorado and Mrs. Carl (Dora) Groen of Rock Rapids.
