Funeral services for Jacob Vander Heiden, 95, of Rock Rapids, Lyon county, Iowa were held August 20, 1992 at First Reformed Church of Boyden with interment in Meridan Township Cemetery.

He died Monday, August 17, 1992 at Lyon Manor Care Center.

Mr. Vander Heiden was born March 1, 1897 in the Netherlands. He grew up and attended school in his homeland and came to the United States in 1920.

On November 24, 1933 he married Wilhelmina Brink in Boyden.

He was a Watkins and McNess agent in the Boyden area until he retired in 1968. The couple then moved to the Homestead in Sioux Center, Iowa. His wife died in 1979.

He then moved to the Sibley Care Home where he lived until ? (unable to see the year, due to a fold in the paper) when he moved to Lyon Manor.

Survivors include one daughter (Wilma) Heida; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
