Funeral services for Theodore Underberg, 82, of Larchwood, Lyon county, Iowa, were held August 8, 1992 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Larchwood, with interment in the Larchwood Cemetery.

He died Wednesday, August 5, 1992 in McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Mr. Underberg was born November 8, 1909 in Gary, South Dakota, and grew up in Larchwood. He attended St. Mary’s School and then worked for area farmers.

On August 27, 1940, he married Felicitas “Sid” Parkinson in Larchwood. They lived in Larchwood and he worked for John Morrell & Company for 28 years, retiring in 1972.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Jim of Baldwin, Kansas, Fritz and Tom, both of Sioux Falls and Willie and Ted Jr., both of Larchwood; seven daughters, Mrs. Robert (Barb) Sehr of Larchwood, Mrs. John (Pat) Schmidt of Yankton, South Dakota, and Mrs. Dale (Sharon) Hinrichs, Mrs. Cliff (Shirley) Breen, Mrs. Ron (Diane) Brower, Coni Kangley and Mari Kolsrud, all of Sioux Falls; 36 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John of Sioux Falls and Andrew of Larchwood, and two sisters, Agnes Bell of Sioux Falls and Collette Rosner of Vail.
