SWANSON, MARY ELLEN (QUINLIVAN) 1900 - 1991
Mary Ellen (Mae) Swanson, 90, died Saturday, October 26, 1991, in Franklin Nursing Home, Franklin, Minnesota.

Mary Ellen Quinlivan was born December 30, 1900, in Larchwood, Iowa. She attended schools in Larchwood, Cherokee, and received her teaching certificate in 1919. She then taught country schools in western Lyon County.

She married Iver Swanson in 1920, in Larchwood. They moved to rural Sioux Falls in 1936, and she worked in Haegle's Western Wear. Her husband died April 9, 1966.

Survivors include two sons; Leonard of Rapid City, and Ray of New Ulm, Minnesota; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Teresa) Hinders of Brownsville, TN; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two sisters; Ann Madison of Sioux City, Iowa and Agnes Doman of Cottonwood, Arizona.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today in St. Joseph Catholic Chapel, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Larchwood.

Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
