SEVERSON, SEVERT, 90 Dies in S.F.
Severt Severson, 90, Rt. 4, died Sunday at a local hospital after a year's illness.
funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home. The Rev. Alvin Rogness will officiate. Mrs. C.B. Van Ausdall will be organist. Mrs. Norman Stordahl vocalist. Burial will be in Brandon.

Born in Norway Aug. 29, 1862, Mr. Severson came to this country in 1884 and farmed near Ben Claire. He was married to Alma Swanson, Oct. 2, 1900, at Granite, Iowa.

After his marriage, Mr. Severson operated a grocery store and a grain elevator at Ben Claire. In 1903, he began operating a grain elevator in East Sioux Falls and also one in Rowena in 1905. He operated a grain elevator in Brandon from 1914 until 1920 when he again took over the East Sioux Falls elevator. Mr. Severson ran a filling station on North Weber Avenue for a few years before his retirement in 1944. He was a Lutheran.

He had been living at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dennis Johnson, for eight years. His wife died in 1943.

Survivors include two sons, Wilfred, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Howard, Pipestone, Minn.; the daughter, Mrs. Johnson; nine grandchildren' three brothers, J.B. Severson, Valley springs; Ole, Hettinger, North Dakota, and one in Norway and a sister in Norway.
