Funeral services for Charles H. Stubbe, 78, of George, Lyon county, Iowa were held June 13, 1992 at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, George, with interment in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery west of the town.

He dies June 10, 1992 at Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital, Rock Rapids, Lyon county, Iowa.

Mr. Stubbe was born September 11, 1914 at rural George. He was a life-long resident of the George area. He serviced in the U. S. Air Force during World War II.

On October 10, 1940 he married Jennie Palsrok who was born in the Netherlands. On December 25, 1945, he married Jean Jaimeson of St. Johnsbury, Vermont. They farmed southwest of George until they retired to town.

Mr. Stubbe was a member of Jack Sauter American Legion Post of George and served on the school board for 15 years.

Survivors include his wife; eight children, Dennis of Alton, Iowa, Charles of Cherokee, Iowa, Mahlon of Sioux City, Iowa, Brent of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Mrs. Linda Spiller of Coram, New York, Mrs. Robert (ZoeAnn) Madsen of Merritt Island, Florida, Mrs. Paul (Glee) Wiersma of George and Mrs. Gary (Jill) Schmitt of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; 20 grandchildren; one brother, Fred of George, and one sister Mrs. Albert (Sena) Rustman of George.
