Funeral services for Eugene J. “Dusty” Broesder, 43, were held January 25, 1992, at First Presbyterian Church, Pipestone, Minnesota, with interment in Bethel Reformed Church Cemetery, rural Ellsworth, Minnesota.

Mr. Broesder died January 18, 1992 in a hospital in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where he had been critically ill for one week.

Mr. Broesder was born April 14, 1948 in Los Angeles, California. In November 1948, the family moved to a farm near Little Rock, Lyon county, Iowa. He attended school in Little Rock and graduated from Little Rock High School in 1966.

He entered the military November 6, 1966, serving in Korea and Vietnam. On February 23, 1969, he sustained near-fatal wounds in Vietnam. He received several medals as a result of his military service.

Survivors include two sons, Danny and Michael, both of Rapid City, South Dakota; one daughter, Regina of Rapid City; one grandson; his parents, John and Marty Broesder, and three brothers, Don, of Tucson, Arizona, James of Marshall, Minnesota and Terry of Pipestone, Minnesota.
