Funeral services for John Steinberg, 78, of Hills, Rock county, Minnesota, were held May 20, 1992 in the Steen, Minnesota, Reformed Church with interment in Eastside Cemetery. He died May 17, 1992 in his home.

Mr. Steinberg was born March 26, 1914 in Inwood, Lyon county, Iowa. He moved with his family to rural Madison, South Dakota, where he received his education.

He returned to Lyon county in 1938 and worked for International Harvester in Hills, Minnesota until 1941 when he started Hills Tractor Repair. He also drove school bus for 11 years in the Hills area.

On June 10, 1945 he married Gertrude Scholten in Omaha, Nebraska.

He was a member of the HET Club and was a Hudson Automobile collector.

Survivors include his wife; one son, James of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; one brother, Andrew of Rock Rapids, Lyon county, Iowa, and three sisters, Sena Mollenbernd, Mrs. Henry (Marge) Kaufman and Florence Brabec, all of Omaha.
