Funeal services for Samuel Peterson, age 94, of rural Larchwood, Lyon county, Iowa, will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 1981 at Beaver Valley Lutheran church at Valley Springs. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He died on Sunday, November 1, 1981 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Peterson was born on December 11, 1886, in Hughes county, South Dakota. On Sept. 30, 1911 he married Christina Samuelson at Dupree, South Dakota. The couple lived in the Faith area, where he homesteaded, until 1936, when they moved to Brandon, South Dakota.

In 1945 they moved to a place near Larchwood where he worked as a farmer and blacksmith until retirement in the late 1950's. Mrs. Peterson died in 1973.

Survivors include four sons: Harold, Arvid, and Marvin, all of rural larchwood, and Clarence, Rowena, South Dakota; two daughters, Mrs. Kermit (Eleanor) Erickson, Axtell, Nebraska, and Mrs. Kenneth (Arlene) Erickson, Valley Springs, South Dakota; a brother, Carl, of Miami, Florida, and 26 other descendants.
