Funeral services for Knut Kyle, age 87, of Rock Rapids, Lyon county, Iowa, will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 1981 at the United Methodist church in Rock Rapids. Burial will be in the Riverview cemetery.

He died on Sunday, August 23, 1981 at the Rock Rapids Health Centre after being in failing health for some time.

Kyle was born on April 29, 1894 at Ombro Island, Stavanger, Norway, to Mr. and Mrs. Ole Kyle. He came to the United States in 1913, and on June 9, 1925 he married Verna Jensen at Inwood, Lyon county, Iowa. He worked for the highway commission for 16 years, and was custodian at Rock Rapids and Central Lyon schools from 1943 until 1971, when he retired. Mrs. Kyle died in 1972.

Survivors include two sons, Loran of Rock Rapids and Howard "Bud" of Milford; two daughters, Mrs. Arvin (Ruby) Bomgaars of Cedar Falls, Black Hawk county, Iowa, and Mrs. Harvey (Joan) Schmidt of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, plus 16 more descendants.
