Funeral services for Grover F. Hartman, age 86, of Larchwood were held on Wednesday, August 19, 1981, at English Lutheran church in Larchwood. Burial was in the Larchwood Cemetery.

He died on Monday, August 17, 1981, at Sioux Falls, S.D.

Grover was born on January 5, 1895 in Larchwood, to August and Engelline Hartman. He served with the U.S. Army in France during WW I.

On March 10, 1920 he married Adaline Viereck in Larchwood. They farmed in that area until retiring in 1950.

Survivors include his wife Adaline; four daughters: Mrs. Mildred Heyer, Santa Rosa, Calif.; Mrs. Edward (Alice) Beuckens, Sebastopol, Calif.; Mrs. Robert (Gladys) Kinney, Sunnyside, Washington; and Mrs. Ronald (Edna) Scott, Hills, Minnesota; five brothers: Charles, Sherman, S.D., Henry, Brandon, S.D., Herbert and Arthur, both of Sioux Falls, S.D., and George, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; four sisters: Mrs. Emma Lamb and Mrs. Elsie Coehoorn, both of Sioux Falls, Mrs. Albert (Anna) Jaeger, Royal, and Mrs. Clara Irwin, Clovis, California; and numerous other descendants.
