Funeral services for Jennie Appel, 93, of Rock Rapids, Lyon county, Iowa were held February 10, 1992 in the Roste Funeral Home in Rock Rapids with interment in Riverview Cemetery there.

She died February 6, 1992 in the Lyon Manor Care Center.

Jennie Schryver was born June 15, 1898 in Kampenn, Netherlands. She moved to the United States when she was 20 years old and settled in Steen, Rock county, Minnesota.

On January 21, 1921 she married Peter Appel in Beaver Creek, Rock county, Minnesota. They farmed at Hills, Beaver Creek and Luverne, all in Rock county, Minnesota before moving to Rock Rapids in 1937.

They farmed near Rock Rapids until retiring to town in 1954. Her husband died in 1966.

Survivors include three sons, John and Peter Jr., both of Rock Rapids, and C, Dick of Artesia, California; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one sister, Greta Sollie of the Netherlands.
