Funeral services for Dr. Delmar Thiesse, 54, of Pella, Marion county, Iowa were held on January 29, 1992 at Third Reformed Church, Pella with interment in Oakwood Cemetery.

He died January 26, 1992 at the Pella Community Hospital.

Mr. Thiesse was born near Little Rock, Lyon county, Iowa August 10, 1937. He graduated from Little Rock High School in 1955. He then attended Central College in Pella, but was later called to serve in the United States Army. Following his time of active duty, he returned to college, graduating from Central College in 1961. He later attended Monterey Peninsula College in Monterey, California, and Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan, graduating there with a Doctor of Divinity degree in 1965.

On August 18, 1962 he married Louise Turnbull.

During his 26 years in the ministry, the Rev. Thiesse served Zion Reformed Church of Sheffield, Iowa, Bethany Reformed Church in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, First Reformed Church in Fulton, Illinois, Church of the Cross in Sarasota, Florida, and since 1982, the Third Reformed Church in Pella. He received his Doctorate of Theology degree from Luther Rice Seminary at Jacksonville, Florida in 1984.

Survivors include his wife, Louise; two sons, three daughters, his mother, Mrs. Ester Asche of Ellsworth, Nobles county, Minnesota, two sisters, one half-sister and one half brother, Ervin Asche of Little Rock, Iowa.
