Funeral services for Harm Tuin, of George, Lyon county, Iowa were held on August 18, 1950 at the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church of George. Burial will be made the same day in the Hope Reformed Church Cemetery southwest of town.

Mr. Tuin, 70, a resident of George for many years died suddenly at his home August 14, 1950. Mr. Tuin had suffered a heart attack a few weeks ago and his condition was quite serious. His children were called home and after a few days he seemed to be recovering nicely. Then on the night of August 20, he suffered a sudden attack which took his life.

Harm Tuin, son of Geert (George) and Geertje (Grace) Tuin, was born June 7, 1880 a Beerte, Groningen, Netherlands. Here he grew to manhood, attending the schools of his native country.

In 1901 he came to America. His first home was at Freeport, Stephenson county, Illinois where he remained one year. He then came to George, where he has since made his home.

On March 20, 1916, he was married to Mrs. Rose Wiertzema. They lived happily until her sudden death in 1934.

For many years he followed his occupation as a mason. During his long years of labor, he did much work in George and the surrounding territory and was well known in the community. Harm was industrious, took pride in his work and was a mater in his trade.

As a child he was baptized in the Reformed faith in Holland. While in George he was affiliated with the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church.

His wife, Rose preceded him in death in 1934, One daughter, Gertie passed away in 1917.

Three children mourn his passing: Herman Tuin of Fort Knox, Kentucky; Grace, Mrs. Orval Hampton of Luverne, Rock county, Minnesota; and Gerrit George Tuin of Kelly Lake, St. Louis county, Minnesota. He also leaves two brothers and one sister: John Tuin, Dutch East Indies, Eyo Tuin, George, Iowa and Mrs. Lammert Modder, also of George. Also mourning his death are seven step-children: Sam Wiertzema, Doran, Wilkin county, Minnesota; Harry Wiertzema, Doran, Minnesota; Tena, Mrs. Charles Hendricks, Doran, Minnesota; Henry Wiertzema, Rock Rapids, Iowa; George Wiertzema, Adrian, Nobles county, Minnesota; Jennie, Mrs. Dick Kruse, Ellsworth, Nobles county, Minnesota; and Edgar Wiertzema, Huntington Park, California along with five grandchildren.
