Mrs. William (Elizabeth) Jansen – 1881-1950

Funeral services were held on September 5, 1950 for Mrs. William (Elizabeth) Jansen, many years a resident of Lyon county, Iowa. She passed away at the Sibley, Osceola county, Iowa, hospital on August 31. Interment was made at the Hope Reformed Church Cemetery southwest of George.

Mrs. Jansen was born on February 5, 1881 in Simonswolde, Niedersachsen, Germany, and passed away August 31, 1950 at Sibley, Iowa at the age of 69 years, 6 months and 26 days.

In the year 1881 her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gerke Heidebrink, came to the United States when Elizabeth was six weeks of age and settled in Grundy county, Iowa. In 1888 the family moved to Lyon county, where she has lived ever since. Her mother passed away on October 25, 1926.

Elizabeth was married to William Jansen on February 22, 1899. Three children were born to them: Annie, Minnie May and Henry John.

Her daughter, Annie, preceded her in death. Also, two brothers preceded Mrs. Jansen in death.

There remain to mourn her passing, her daughter, Minnie Mae, Mrs. Kreno VanHoorn, Larry Van Hoorn, Arnold and Marvella Jansen. Also four brother, Brown G., Albert, Harm and John G. and 3 sisters, Hattie, Minnie and Grace.

Mrs. Jansen has been a faithful member of Hope Reformed Church for over 50 years, and served her Lord in many ways with consecration.
