A Requiem mass for Joseph Belfiore, age 92, will be celebrated on Friday morning.

Interment is to be at Holy Name cemetery under the dirction of Jongewaard-Roste Funeral Home of Rock Rapids. At the cemetery there will be military rites for Belfiore, a veterans of World War I.

He died on Monday, April 20, at the Rock Rapids Health Centre.

Belfiore was born in Italy on March 27, 1889, to Salvatore and Antonio Barberi. He came to the United States in 1911, moving to Alvord. He worked for a time at Omaha, Nebraska, and then entered the army, serving for a period in the Eurpoean front.

After the war he came to Rock Rapids and worked as a mainenance man for the Illinois Central railroad company. In 1927 he went to Alvord and worked for different farmers in that area for many years. He lived in Rock Rapids after he retired and moved to Rock Rapids Health Centre in 1973.

Survivors include a niece, Nettie Gurciullo of Omaha, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
