LONG, DAVID W. 1916-2001
David W. Long, 85, rural Larchwood, IA, died Monday, October 29 at Avera Prince of Peace Retirement Community, Sioux Falls, SD.

David Warner Long, son of Charley J. and Emma P. (Johnson) Long, was born May 15, 1916 on a farm near Larchwood, IA. He attended country school and graduated from Larchwood High School. David raised cattle and farmed his entire life. He was a lifelong member of Grandview Covenant Church, rural Larchwood.

Survivors include 3 brothers, Palmer Long, Sioux Falls, SD, Carl Long and his wife, Bernice, Harrisburg, SD, Joe Long and his wife Lou, Sioux Falls, SD, 1 sister, Josephine Oltmanns, Lennox, SD; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Ferdinand, Fromalt, Axel, and John; and 4 sisters, Rosella Long, Amanda Long, Betty Hildring, and Sylvia Maass.

Funeral services were held October 31 at George Boom Funneral Home, Sioux Falls, with interment at Grandview Covenant Church Cemetery, rural Larchwood.
