Mrs. Cora Meester, nee Cora Getting was born on May 15, 1891 on a farm near George, Lyon county, Iowa. She grew to womanhood and received her formal education in the rural schools of the George area.

On November 27, 1920 she was united in marriage to George Meester and to this union one daughter, Merla was born. That family followed the pursuit of agriculture.

Survivors are: her daughter (Merla),Mrs. Alvin Pals, of George, two grandsons, Harlan and Kendall Pals; two sisters, Kathryn and Clara Getting, of Sheldon, Obrien county, Iowa; four brothers, Floyd and Orie, of Matklock, Sioux county, Iowa; Lewis of Brainerd, Crow Wing county, Minnesota, and Leo of Sheldon. She was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother.
