Funeral Service Held Monday for Mrs. A. Jammer
Had Been Long Time Resident of the vicinity; Born in Iowa

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the Congregational church for Mrs. August Jammer, who died Friday. The Rev. Ross B. Hartman was in charge of services.

Six nephews of Mrs. Jammer served as pallbearers. Pierre Landman sang several selections at the service and Mrs. Kenneth Wallace played organ music. Lockwood Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Born in Scott County, Agnes, the fifth of the seven children of William and Christine (Gerbers) Stuerman, was born July 5, 1889, on a farm in Scott County, Iowa. In 1902 the family came to Lyon county and made their home on a farm near Ellsworth. After a year they moved to a farm northwest of Rock Rapids.

She was married to August Jammer on February 9, 1910. For two years they lived near Mr. Jammer's home farm, and then made their home on that farm. They retired from the farm and moved to Rock Rapids in 1945.

The Survivors

Close relatives surviving her are: her husband, August; her son, Harvey; two grandchildren, Barbara and Roger; a brother, William of Rock Rapids; a sister, Mrs. Elsie Lohman of Rock Rapids; a sister, Mrs. Olga Berg of Goodwin, S. D.; and a brother Harry of Rock Rapids.

Mrs. Jammer had not been in the best of health for some time, Friday Mr. Jammer had been helping with farm work at his son Harvey's farm and returned home about 7 o'clock. He found the house locked and when he went inside the body was found in the basement. County Coroner Harold Jongewaard believed she had been dead about an hour, before Mr. Jammer returned home.
