Jackson Sentinel, September 25, 1902.
Julie E. Bahne, daughter of J. H. and Adelia Bahne, was born in Sabula, Iowa, July 23, 1875, and died at the home of her father, in Sioux City, Iowa, on September 17, 1902, aged 27 years, 1 month and 24 days.
When she was but two years old her mother and an infant sister were taken from this life and Julie was taken into the home of her grandmother, the late Mrs. E. B. Uttley, and aunt, Mrs. F. M. Guenther, where for five years she found the nearest possible substitute for a motherís love and affection.
At seven years of age she went to live with her father and step-mother at Maquoketa, Iowa, moving with them to Sioux City, Iowa and Rock Rapids, Lyon county, Iowa, graduating from high school of that place.
Early in life Miss Bahne, chose the avocation for a teacher and after two years experience in the country schools returned to Sabula in 1896 and took charge of the second primary department in our schools.
