Rudolphine Meinerts, 91, of George died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at George Good Samaritan Home.Services were Friday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, George, with interment in Emery (S.D.) Community Cemetery.Rudolphine Block was born July 15, 1911, in Corona, S.D., the daughter of Enoch Block and Alida Jordan. She grew up and attended country school near Corona.On Dec. 20, 1935, she married Jacob Meinerts in George. They farmed near Farmer, Spencer and Emery, S.D., until 1962 when they moved into Emery. She worked as school cook, waitress and cook in Emery. In 1975 she moved to George and worked as a fry cook at Ron's Cafe several years.
She was involved in women's groups and taught Sunday School at First Baptist Church in Emery and Tabernacle Baptist Church in George.Survivors include one son Oryn of George; one daughter, Mrs. Duane (Alvah) Winkel of George, and one sister, Christine Kruse of Sibley.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one granddaughter, Karla Winkel; one brother, Rudolph Block, and three sisters, Margaret Janssen, Elizabeth Jonescheit and Swanetta Block.
