Caroline Geerdes, 78, of George died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at George Good Samaritan Center.Services were Thursday at Ebenezer Presbytrian Church, George, with interment in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery.Caroline Klaassen was born Aug. 7, 1924, near George, the daughter of Andrew and Anna (Hassebroek) Klaassen. She attended country school.On Sept. 20, 1943, she married Theodore Geerdes in George. They farmed near George until February 1968 when they moved into George. She worked at Campbell Soup in Worthington, Minn., from 1959-1987. She then worked with her husband in his carpenter business until November 1990.He died Feb. 12, 1991.Survivors include one son, Silas of West Point; three daughters, Mrs. William (Janet) Koopman and Mrs. Roger (Carol) Christians, both of George, and Mrs. Joseph (Hazel) Martens of Sheldon; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, William of George, and one sister, Martha Kruse of Sibley.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter, Theodora; one great-granddaughter, Krystal Schoo; one brother, Harm, and one sister, Hattie Van Briesen
