Rose Eleanor Curry was born about 1814 in Fayette County, Kentucky, the fifth of six children born to David Ralston Curry and Margaret Bradburn. She was the great-granddaughter of David Rolstone, Sr. and Ann Copeland. By 1835 her father had moved the family to Johnson County, Indiana where Eleanor married Andrew Jackson Parr on April 30th of that year
