Clarence Hazel Morton, the son of Clarence and Love Morton was born February 19, 1904 in Lucas County, and departed this life February 3, 1988 at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 15 days. He was united in marriage to Esther Abrahamson on January 1, 1927.

Clarence was a minister in the Church of the Nazarene for many years. He also taught Sunday School. He loved his church work.

In 1960 he became a licensed Real Estate Broker and was an active partner in Morton and Blunt Real Estate.

Hazel was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Esther; two daughters, Darlene (Bob) Parker of Chariton; Carol (Gale) Blunt of Overland Park, KS; five grandchildren: Randy (Carmen) Parker; Denny (Cindy) Parker of Chariton; Linda (Robert)Choiniere of Arlington, VA; Jay (Kim) Blunt of Overland Park, KS; and John Blunt of Norman, OK. Three great-grandchildren, one brother, Graydon of Chariton and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Fielding Funeral Home with the Rev. Leray Glendenning officiating. Serving as pall bearers were Jay Blunt, John Blunt, Randy Parker, Denny Parker and Robert Choiniere.

Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
