Services were held at the Fielding Funeral Home.

Bob was born September 20, 1925 in Hocking, Iowa, to Robert and Susie (Fillinson) Patterson. He passed away June 5, 2003 at his home in Chariton.

Bob was a longtime resident of Chariton and graduated from Chariton High School in 1943. He joined the Navy in 1943 during WWII.

On July 2, 1949 Bob was united in marriage to Ruth Ridinger in Pochahontas, AR. Bob was an accountant and worked for Bob Stone from 1955 until he retired. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, shooting pool and playing poker. He was secretary/treasurer of the Lake View Country Club on three different occasions.

Bob is survived by his wife, Ruth of 53 years; three sons, Robert Patterson of Fairway, KS, Michael Patterson of Chariton and Steven Patterson of West Des Moines; three daughters, Karen Patterson of Chariton, Cheryl Graan of Fairbanks, AK, and Patricia Dougan of Des Moines;
one sister, Donna Stuchel of Chariton; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the Association for Retarded Citizens or Tenco Industries.
