Friday, September 13, 2002Margaret L. Romine, 82, of Chariton died of cancer, Wednesday at Chariton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Services were at the Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton, with burial in the Chariton Cemetery.
Mrs. Romine was born in Hiteman and had lived in Lucas County many years. She was a homemaker and had been the director of Lucas County General Relief. She enjoyed being a volunteer and had received an Iowa Govenor's Volunteer Award. She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glendle.
She is survived by three sons, Bill of Marysville, MO., Glen of Colorado Springs, CO., and Jerry of West Des Moines; two daughters, Connie Keller of Albia and Judy Romine of Minneapolis, MN; two brothers, Adam Marshall of Springfield, MO., and Marvin Marshall of Virginia Beach, VA.; three sisters, Ruth Frazier and Alice Fry, both of Chariton, and Connie Retherford of Bettendorf; eight granchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lucas County Rural Health Care Hospice.
