Tuesday, December 28, 2004George Halbert Kine, 80, of rural Chariton, died at home of natural causes on December 26, 2004. He had lived in the Chariton area nearly all his life and had worked for Yocom Farms and Johnson Ready Mix. He retired from Bridgestone-Firestone in Des Moines in 1982 after working there as a mechanic for 19 years.
George was born to Thomas and June (Williams) Kline in Albia on May 31, 1924. He married Mary Bioletto on August 26, 1944 and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a grand party this year.
He had been a past member of the Williamson Board of Education, United Rubber Workers Local 310, Knights of Pythias and the Williamson Volunteer Fire Department. He was still active in the Red Haw Campers, Williamson Community Foundation, Williamson Historical Society and the Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees. George was a generous, kind and gentle man who enjoyed camping, dancing, country music and most of all, his beloved family.
Surivors include his wife, Mary; one son, George M. (Shorty) and his wife, Marti of Mitchellville; one grandson, Adam (Heidi) Kline of Altoona; two granddaughters, Molly of Waterloo and Megan of Elkart; two great-grandsons, Gabriel and Zachery Kline of Altoona; a sister, Kathryn Miller of Holly, MI; one brother, Joe Arthur of Des Moines; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial donations may be made to the Williamson Fire Dept. or the Williamson Community Church.
