Olive Harrington was born in a log cabin near Balgrade, MT., January 10, 1902, and passed away at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital August 1, 1990, at the age of 88 years.
She was married to L. Lee Harrington and most of her married life was spent in farming with her husband in Marion and Lucas counties.
She is survived by two sons, Lee E. (Bethel) Harrington of Chariton, and Hubert (Jennie) of Chesterfield, MO.; one daughter, Marie (Don) of Knoxville; a daughter-in-law, Charlene Harrington of Chariton; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee; her son, Robert; a sister; two brothers; and a great-granddaughter, Adrienne.
She was active for many years in the Presbyterian Church. She spent many years doing volunteer work at the V.A. Hospital in Knoxville and RSVP in Chariton. She enjoyed popping popcorn for the patients at the Manor until about a year and a half ago.
Funeral services were held at the Fielding Funeral Home, with the Rev. Sara Palmer officiating. Serving as bearers were Brad Allard, Wade Nelson, Kevin Rodgers, Randy Rodgers, Richard Harrington and Robert M. Delpierre.
Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
