Anderson--John F Anderson, son of Neil and Emma Anderson was born September 9 1878 on the old home place in Lucas Co. and passed away at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital on February18, 1968 at the age of 89 years, 5 months, and 9 days.
He was a lifetime member of the United Brethren Church of Otterbein. He lived his entire life on their farm south of Chariton before they retired and moved to Chariton in 1943.
On February 29, 1901 he was united in marriage to Della Arnold, who survives him. They would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on February 26.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son-in-law, Leonard Davis, a brother Ed and a sister Ellen Willits.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters: Mrs. Fern Davis of Chariton, Mrs. Ralph Shanks of Derby, one son Ivan of Chariton; Several nieces & nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Services were conducted by the Rev. E J Berreth at 2 PM Tuesday February 20, 1968 at the Beardsley Fielding Funeral home in Chariton.
Serving as bearers were six grandsons, John Shanks, Eddie Shanks, Earl Anderson, Walter Shanks, Earl Anderson and Ralph Shanks. Internment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
