~ OBITUARY ~

LAURA TURNER was born February 7, 1818, in Palmyra, Wayne County, New York,
and died January 31, 1908, at 3 a.m. at the good old age of 89 years, 11
months and 24 days.

When about 12 years of age LAURA TURNER moved to Medina, New York, where she
grew to womanhood. In the early 40's she went with relatives to Michigan.
On January 21, 1844, she was married to EBENEZER DANIELS, and located in
Medina, Lenewa County, Michigan, where they remained until the summer of
1863, when her husband in company with others, entered into the construction
of the "Air Line Railway" from Toledo, Ohio to Goshen, Indiana. This
necessitated their moving to Kendalville, Indiana, where they resided until
her husband's death in 1864. She came to Iowa in 1868, since which time she
has been a member of the family of ALBERT S. BEALS, her half brother.

She gave her heart to Jesus when a child, uniting with the Baptist Church
and has ever been a devoted earnest Christian. She is survived by one
brother, ALBERT S. BEALS, and one sister, DULCENA M. WILLETT.

Funeral services were held at the ALBERT S. BEALS home, Saturday morning, at
11 a.m., conducted by her Pastor, Rev. A.H. Stote. Interment followed in
the Russell Cemetery and her six nephews acted as pall bearers.

Auntie DANIELS, as she was commonly called, was a grand old lady, and her
sweet cheerful life, will be a benediction to the relatives and large circle
of friends who are left to mourn so great a loss.

Those who attended the funeral from a distance were, D.D. Beals, of Chicago;
A.D. Beals, of Des Moines; Mrs. L. Armstrong and son, of Osceola; Helen Van
Arsdale and Mrs. Ira King Kinsey, of Chariton.
