The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa
Thursday, February 28, 1907

J.M. Hanlin called at the Leader office, Monday, with the information that they had just received word that JAMES GRAYSON had died in the city of Mexico about a week previous. No additional information could be given at this time. His remains, of course, were interred in Mexico, as it is contraty to the laws of that republic to transport dead bodies. MR. and MRS. GRAYSON left their home in Russell, in the fall, to spend the winter with Harry Butts and family. The deceased was well advanced in years and had served as a soldier for the union during the rebellion. He was born in England, chose America as his country and now finds a resting place in a foreign land -- Mexico.
