Thursday, March 7, 1907

While C.A. JOHNSON, section foreman at Lucas, was working in the east end of
the yards, he met with an accident which proved fatal. He was on the track
and did not notice the way freight backing in, and as there was no one on
the car as a look out, warning was not given him and the way car struck him
and partially passed over his body, cutting his right arm off, crushing one
foot, severing several toes, mutilating his face and head and injuring him
internally. This was about 9 o'clock in the forenoon. He lived until the
middle of the afternoon.

MR. JOHNSON had a wife but no children and was born July 4, 1860. The
funeral occurred Tuesday and interment made in the Lockwood Cemetery
northwest of Lucas.
