REV. J.T. BARRON passed away at his home in Union Township on Sunday, after
an illness of seven weeks with cancer of the stomach. He was born in
Pulaski County, Kentucky, Nov. 8, 1859, and was married to MISS MELVINA
MCQUERRY, January 14, 1883. To this union were born six children.

The family settled in Union Township in March, 1892 and lived on their farm
where they resided until his death. Funeral services were held on Tuesday
at the Eden Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. M.S. Clark, assisted by Rev. J
H. Perry and interment was made in the cemetery near his late residence.
The life work of a good man has ended and he has gone to his reward. He
lived an exemplary life and held the esteem of those with whom he came in
contact; was converted in his 16th year and was later licensed to the office
of Deacon in the Baptist Church and on Sept. 24, 1893 was licensed to preach
and on the 11th of Oct, 1894, became a regular minister of the church.
