BERTHA DOWNS RITES TODAY

Bertha Downs, 87, a long-time resident of Chariton, died Saturday at Chariton Manor where she had been a patient for 1-1/2 years. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Bernice Weiss, of Racine, Wisc., and a brother, Mart Darrah, of Des Moines. Mrs. Downs' husband Harry died in 1959.

Graveside funeral services are tentatively planned for today at 1 p.m. at the Chariton Cemetery. For futher information call the Fielding Funeral Home.
