Obituary -

ORVILLE MASON (Princeton, MO) ... Orville Glen Mason, son of James Houston and Minnie Rachael [Azbel] Mason, was born Southwest of Princeton, Missouri, August 23, 1898, and passed away on May 28, 1993, at the Princeton Care Center at the age of 94 years.

Orville was united in marriage to Elsie Mary Heriford May 5, 1917, in Princeton. Elsie preceded him in death October 29, 1983. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Elna Clifton; and by his sister Velma Derry.

Orville if survived by his daughter, Edna Goodknight (and son-in-law, Walter), of Princeton; son-in-law, William Clifton, of Mission, Kansas; four grandchildren, Gary Clifton (and wife, Judy), of Lenexa, Kansas, Cherie Nigh (and husband Gary), of Topeka, Kansas, Debra Irving (and husband, Michael), of Charton, Iowa, and Greg Goodknight (and wife, Debra), of Princeton; six great grandchildren, Brian and Michael Clifton, Misty and Chad Nigh, Jammie and Wendy Irving; one nephew Olin Derry, Jr., of Maryville, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Morgie Casteel, of Princeton, and Martha Hammond, of Meadville, Missouri; two brothers-in-law, Leland Heriford, of Princeton, and David Heriford, of Clarksdale, Missouri; and other relatives and friends.

Orville was a lifelong resident of Mercer County and a retired farmer. He moved from his farm to Princeton in 1983, and had only been a resident of the Princeton Care Center for the past month. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church, and was saved as a teenager.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 1, 1993, at 1:00 p.m. at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton with Rev. Whitley Garrett and Rev. Leland Heriford officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Cemetery, south of Princeton.

Open visitation and viewing will begin at 8:00 a.m. Monday morning at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Monday evening.

Memorial: The family requests memorial donations to the Pine Cemetery,
