1899 Obituary

William N. Lane, died at his home in Lucas Friday, May 26, 1890. Mr. Wm N. Lane, aged 69 years, 3 months, 8 days. The remains were brought to Chariton for interment Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, and services were conducted by Rev. W. H. Larrick of Woodburs.
Mr. Lane was born in Fayette county, Ohio, February 18, 1830. Was married to Miss Mary Ingram February 24, 1850 and came to Iowa in 1856. For a long time he resided in Liberty township and from there he moved to Lucas, where he has since resided. He united with the M. E. church in 1851 and lived a faithful, Christian life. He was the father of ten children, seven of whom are living, and who were present at the funeral. He has 32 grandchildren and 6 great grand children, most of whom were present at the funeral. he was a loving husband and father, a kind neighbor, and his many friends extend their sympathies to the bereaved wife and children.
