DELTA MAE SHAW

Delta Mae Shaw, daughter of John & Katheryn Hall, was born on Nov. 26, 1896 near Lucas and passed away at Des Moines General Hospital on April 14, 1968 after a short illness. She had reached the age of 71 years, four months and 18 days.

She was raised and educated in the Lucas County area and has spent all of her life here.

In February of 1916, she was united in marriage to Ellis Shaw. From this union three children were born, all of whom survive. They are Ardin Shaw of Waterloo, Gene Shaw of Rochester, Minn; and Dean Shaw of Lakewood, Calif.

She is also survived by six grandchildren; two brothers, Harry Hall of Chariton and Clifford Hall of Lucas; four sisters, Lois Grimes of Des Moines; Leta Walls of Lincoln, Nebr; Floy Cackler of Fresno, Calif; and Zolla Knox of River Falls, Wisc; a number of other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis in 1957 and by two brothers and sisters.

Services were held on Wednesday, April 17, at 2 p.m. from the Miley and Brueggemann Chapel with the Rev. Eldon Jandebeur officiating. Interment was in the Goshen Cemetery.
