Bert Dwayne Hall

Bert Dwayne Hall, son of John & Kathryn Hall, was born August 26, 1911, near Milo., He departed this life on Friday evening, September 5, following a heart attack at his home in Chariton at the age of 36 years and ten days.

As a boy he lived at Lucas where he grew to manhood. His entire life having been spent in or near Chariton.

He was married November 27, 1929, to Margaret Mason and to this union three children were born, Dwayne, Patsy and Bernadine, who with the mother, his father, John Hall, seven sisters, Mrs. Ellis Shaw of Chariton; Mrs. Golda Polser of Lucas; Mrs. Charley Grimes of Des Moines; Mrs. Roy Cackler, of California; Mrs. Cyril Knox, of Wisconsin; Mrs. Carl Walls, of Nebraska, and Mrs. George Pfrimmer of Boone; four brothers, Harry & Clifford of Lucas; Rhonde of Chariton and Robert of Corydon mourn his untimely death.

Hymns were sung by a quartet composed of Clifford Mason, Minnie Mason, B. W. Baxter and Hazel Mason, with Cleo DeBok pianist.

Casket bearers were Ed Enslow, Perry Potts, Clell James, Bill Benway, Clifford Daugherty and Lowell Gullion.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 8, at the Downs funeral home. Rev. Clifford Carter, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren church, officated. Burial was made in Chariton Cemetery.
