Erma Esther Fenton

Erma Esther Fenton, daughter of Fred William Frazee and Louella Frazee, was born Jan. 31, 1906 in Exline and died March 18, 1982 in Emerson.

She was married to Charley Lesley Phillips in September 1922. To this union eight children were born.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charley; two sons; a daughter and her second husband, Doris M. Fenton.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Charles Lilley of Chariton, Mrs. Donald Lee of Emerson and Frances Simons of San Francisco, Calif; two sons, Floyd James Phillips of Sturgis, Mich and Charles William Phillips of Mesa, Ariz. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister Cuma Hensley and a foster brother, Wayne Perry and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 22, 1982 at 2 p.m. at the Mosher Funeral Home in Chariton with Rev. Eugene Koth conducting. Burial was in Hanes Cemetery near Centerville.
