Chariton Leader, Tuesday, March 25, 1980:
Mrs Esther Farrell, 79, of Williamson, a long time resident of Lucas County, Iowa died Friday noon at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for seven weeks.
She is survived by three daughters: Miss Johnetta Farrell of Williamson, Mrs. Mary Colbert of Melcher, and Mrs. Dell Agan of Modesto, California; eight sons: Gerald of Lacona, Robert of Des Moines, Richard of Chicago, Ed of Chariton, Don of Vail, IA, Carl of Pella, Joe of Chariton, and Charlie of Williamson.; 40 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister Myrtle Gurwell of Ankeny.
A wake was held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Fielding Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Monday at 10:30 a.m at the Fielding Funeral Home with the Rev. Father James Kiernan conducting. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery.
