Through my research, I have found that Asa Knight did infact own land in Louisa County that was purchased in 1855. His brother Curtis was also in the area and had land. Curtis and his wife were buried in a family cemetety on their land, Knight Cemetery according to Lousia County cemetery records on this site. Is it possible that Asa was buried there or on his own land when he died in 1880? I have attached what I was able to locate as a death verification. His death was noted in federal records as he was killed by a train in Columbus Junction. The date of death as known by records from Louisa County on familysearch give the date of 11 Aug 1880. I am trying to figure out where he is buried an brick wall after brick wall! His wife, Flavilla, ends up with the children in Nebraska and by 1883, she remarries a man, Paul S. Pettit. She is there for the 1885 census and again vanishes! 6 years I have been working on locating them! Any advice on finding them would be appreciated Lynn. Thank you for your amazing site that is packed with info! It is through you that I found my 5x great grandpa owned land in Louisa County and was possibly a ferryman!
