Apparently Norma Leona (Burks) Kemp never recovered from the birth of her infant son on May 28, 1908.

"Mrs. Abner Kemp of Concord township has been so very ill for some days that her life was despaired of, but she is now reported to be improving slowly. She was Miss Norma Berks before her marriage and has many friends who hope to hear of her steady improvement."

From her obituary:

"...Glenn Samuel, a babe of five weeks. Ever since the birth of this child, Mrs. Kemp has been very ill."
